Animal Science Department hosts field day for Heritage High School students

ANSC Department held a field day on November 5 at the Pauline Whitaker Animal Science Arena in Fayetteville. The event was attended by 56 students & four teachers from Heritage High School, Rogers, AR.
Talks were given by ANSC faculty members Jeremy Powell, D.V.M., who teaches pre-veterinary medicine, Dr. Charles Rosenkrans (Genetics), Bryan Kutz, who spoke about other aspects of animal science and by Toby Lester, program technician with an emphasis in reproductive efficiency research.
Students also had an opportunity for "hands-on" experience (literally) with one of the cannulated cows (Heilda).

Leslie Morelock Roye, a Rogers teacher, has been bringing groups of students from the high school for several years and said students always look forward to the field trip.
