UofA Intercollegiate Livestock Judging Team

The UofA Intercollegiate Livestock Judging Team began 2008 with a trip to the Arizona National in Phoenix, where they evaluated livestock and came away with Reserve champion honors. Team members Jessica Juenger, Mike Schultz, Taylor Gwin, Brooke Ross, Jordan McDaniel, Justin Green, Chelsey Ahrens, Joey Zamudio, & Jim Coffey finished 2nd place in Swine, Cattle & Reasons, took 3rd place in Cattle and earned 2nd place overall. Jordan McDaniel was high individual in Reasons, Taylor Gwin took 5th place in Swine and 8th in Reasons; Joey Zamudio finished 2nd in Cattle & 4th in Reasons, and Mike Schultz finished 2nd in Swine & 9th in Reasons. The team then traveled to Denver to compete in the National Western Livestock Show & Rodeo, where they finished 7th in Sheep, 8th in Swine & 11th place overall. Other events included the Southwestern Exposition in Fort Worth, the Dixie National in Jackson, MS., and the San Antonio Stock Show.
The spring judging season concludes with competitions at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo on March 19, and the All East Judging contest in Lexington, KY. scheduled for April 10-13.
